CHESTER MORGAN ENTERTAINS TUESDAY AT BRIDGE-LUNCHEON A pretty St. Patrick's Day mo tif was carried out in the decora tions and in the menu used by Mrs. Chester Morgan Tuesday, when she entertained her bridge club at a charming one o'clock luncheon at her home in Laurel wood. , Covers were placed for Mrs. 0. M. Berrie and Mrs. Fred Schwartz, guests, and Mrs. C. B. Wade, Mrs. Ivan Pickens, Miss Helen Casey. Mrs. D. B. Bubar, Mrs. Clair K. Alien, Mrs. H. N. Jacobson and the hostess. Mrs. Morgan. High score for the afternoon's contract bridge play was won by Mrs. Berrie with Mrs. Bubar win ning the traveling prize. SUNDAY DINNER IS ENOYED AT BURKHARTS Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Burkhart and daughter. N. Orcutt, who are moving to Portland after many years of residence in Rose burg, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Ivcn Pickens and son, Jon, at a lovely six-thirty o'clock dinner at their home on Fowler Street Tues day evening. Fink carnations and blue Dutch Iris formed the beautiful center piece for the serving table. Visit ing was enjoyed during the pleas ant evening hours. - MR. W. M. Campbell at her home on Winchester Street, when she invited friends to. call in compliment to Mrs. A. N. Orcutt, who with her husband, Attorney Orcutt, will movo to Portland to reside. Guests called between three and five o'clock in the afternoon. For the occasion, Mrs. Orcutt wore an attractive afternoon dress of navy blue crepe with a cor sage oi puuc roseouas. - Mrs. Campbell wore a lavender after noon dress. Mrs. A. B. Taylor received the guests. Pouring from three to four o'clock were Mrs. A. J. Ellison and Mrs. Harne W. Booth and from four to five o'clock, were Mrs.. George Churchill and Mrs. Gordon Stewart. Knudtson and Mrs. J. Harold Nichols entertained the Oregon State College Mothers Club at the attractive Richie home in Garden Valley Monday afternoon. Mrs. E. N. Kaser, president, conducted the meeting. Plans were discussed for the Mothers Week end at Corvallis May 8-9-10. A social hour followed, at which time the hostesses served tea. Mrs. Kaser poured. The girls had more excitement than was planned for them when the home ol the Pargeter's neighbor, II. P. Conn caught fire about 1 a.m. and they all rushed out clad in pajamas to help. STADLER The members of Xi Epsllon Chapter, Beta Sigma Phi, held a luncheon Wednesday at the Snali mar complimenting one of the members, Dr. E. Carlson Stad ler, who became the bride of Joe Stadler last December 26. Dr. Stad ler was presented with a beautiful glass bride's tray bearing the Beta Sigma Phi insignia. Dr. Stadler is well-known in Roseburg, having practiced den tistry here for several years. Joe Stadler is employed by the Doug las County Assessor's office.
