There apparently was little if any damage to either. No report was made to Dolice. Miss Davies, longtime friend of W. R. Hearst Jr. Battle Hearst's father, the late William Randolph Hearst, apparently had no part in the incident. Brown, a former merchant ma rine captain, could not be reached for his version of the affair, Hearst is president of the Los Angeles Herald and Express and publisher of the New York Journal American. ,U.
