Covers were placed for Mr. and Mrs. R. A. DON HARMON FETED AT SHOWER ON WEDNESDAY Mrs. Don Harmon was compli mented with a lovely pink . and blue shower Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. II. W. AND MRS. W. LIKELY HONORED AT FAREWELL' A farewell party was given re cently honoring Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Likely who will leave Yoncalla shortly. Neighbors and friends ga thered for an evening of visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Likely received a large thermos jug from their friends, as they plan on traveling extensively before deciding on a Mrs. Likely. MR. AND MRS. F. REECE ENTERTAIN AT DINNER Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Reece were dinner guests Monday even ing at the C. E. Reece home. They left Tuesday by plane for Anchor age, Alaska where he has been employed for the past year. They spent several days at their home in Roseburg at which time their daughter Raeda was married to James Pirot, a student of Oregon State College. Pupils oi Mrs. S. Clarence Trued and Miss Gladys Strong entered the exam inations and pupils of Mrs. Homer Grow had auditions. Verv hieh standards of musicianship were at tained by the students and they were complimented for their fine woric. . The local teachers were verv fortunate in having Miss Williams again this year as she gives a very constructive examination. She Is a finely trained musician with wide experience and is well known as a composer. She Is a past president of the O.M.T.A. and has. contributed to the progress of music teaching in Oregon. Miss Williams was a guest of Miss Strong while she was in Roseburg. 1 Pupils bf Mrs. Trued who took the examinations were: Ellis Vance, Lorna Vance, Richard Du. vail, Paula Smith, Alan VanDyke and Karen March. The guests assembling at eight o'clock were entertained with a home product demonstra tion by Mrs. Frances Jellison oi Roseburg. Games were played and prizes awarded. Mrs. Muriel Wilton won the door prize. The hostess, Mrs. McLennan, served delicious re freshments to the Mesdames Doris Martyn, Pat Richey, Lctha Rydjr and Alice Jean: Muriel Wilton, J. A.
