MISS MERILEE YEAGER, above, who has been employed as a psychometrist at the Uni
versity of Oregon Counseling Center, Eugene, has returned to Roseburg, where she. has
accepted a position with the Douglas County Welfare Commission. Merilee was grad
uated from Roseburg High School and from University of Oregon in 1950. She is the

A most enjoyable family dinner
was enjoyed Sunday at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. C. Fred Reece. The
two o'clock potluck affair was
served in the lovely garden.

A very charming party of the
week was given by Mrs. Eugene
Springer Thursday, when she en
tertained a group of friends at a
12:30 o'clock luncheon at the limp-
qua Hotel, followed by contract
bridge at her attractive home in
Westmoreland.
A long arrangement of pastel-
colored sweetpeas and fern graced
the large luncheon table. Guests
invited to enjoy the occasion with

W. Likely who will leave Yoncalla

friends, as they plan on traveling
extensively before deciding on a

ENTERTAIN AT DINNER
Mr. and Mrs. Fred C. Reece
were dinner guests Monday even
ing at the C. E. Reece home. They
left Tuesday by plane for Anchor
age, Alaska where he has been
employed for the past year. They
spent several days at their home
in Roseburg at which time their
daughter Raeda was married to
James Pirot, a student of Oregon
State College. The young couple
are spending the summer at An
chorage where Pirot will be employed.

last week adjudicating syllabus ex
aminations for the Oregon Music
Teachers' Association. Pupils oi
Mrs. S. Clarence Trued and Miss
Gladys Strong entered the exam
inations and pupils of Mrs. Homer
Grow had auditions. Verv hieh
standards of musicianship were at
tained by the students and they
were complimented for their fine
woric. .
The local teachers were verv
fortunate in having Miss Williams
again this year as she gives a
very constructive examination.
She Is a finely trained musician
with wide experience and is well
known as a composer. She Is a
past president of the O.M.T.A. and
has. contributed to the progress of
music teaching in Oregon.

Miss Strong while she was in
Roseburg. 1
