J. Hat field drove to Portland Saturday to attend a family reunion of Mri. Bartleyt family. There were five brother and two sistert and their families attending. One sister, who resided in Georgia, was unable to attend. On Saturday evening they attended the Ice Follies. The Bartley's returned home Sun day nisht. Mr. Bartley is working at the Tiller ranger station again this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Fairfield and V. C. Hanson have purchased the 160-acre ranch of Mrs. Elsie Knox on Woods Creek above Days Creek and are living there. Park rangers are continuing their searcn tor a girl Hiker they now believe may have hitched a ride out of the Smoky mountains wil derness. They pinned their greatest hop on wide publicity to bring them word of 21 - year-old Evangeline I.onmor, a student nurse of Cin cinnati, O. An experienced mountain hiker and ramper, Miss Iirimor was on a vacation trip with her father. Evangelist W. M. Lorimor of Se attle, Wash., when she left their campsite Friday for i short hike. She hasn't been seen since. Former Canyonville Boy Drowns Near Med ford Donald Beach of Medford, who drowned last Wednesday, was a former resident of Canyonville. He attended the local high school as a junior earlier his term. Donald, his mother, Mrs. Lucille Beach, and his sister, Vlrgifia, lived at the Evergreen Motel here. Donald was drowned in Rogue river while swimming near the mouth of Butte creek. His sister, Virginia, and two other compan ions, also of Medford, saw him disappear over a shelf of rock. They summoned and ambulance and a resusritator. State police and the sheriff's squad were called to the river later and a tank of oxygen was used in an attempt to revive him when his body was re moved from the stream. Intern ment was in Los Angeles. The Beach family moved to Med ford last November. About a vear ago Mr. Beach was killed in a dynamite explosion near Canyon ville while working on the highway. Ritchie, temperance secretary for the Oregon Seventh-Day Adventist conference. Dr. Marry is a former president of the Washington temperance as sociation and aformer pastor of the Tacoma First Methodist church.
