SADIE SHERIDAN COMPLIMENTED ON EIGHTY-FIFTH BIRTHDAY The home of Mr. and Mrs. Ab ner Rice Jr. in Dillard was the scene of a charming party given in honor of Mrs. Sadie Sheridan'i 85th birthday. The hostess, Mrs. Betty Rice was assisted by ber two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Carol Rice and Mrs. Lois Rice. The fried rabbit supper was served buffet style from the table centered with a vase of large peach roses. The rooms were decorated with roses from the gardens of the hostess. As the candles on the birthday cake were being lighted little Glen da Rae and Anita Jo Rice sang "Happy Birthday" to their great aunt Mii. Sheridan. Gift were prenented the hnnnrprt guest during the evening by Mr. and Mrs. Abner Rice Sr., Mr. and Mrs. Victor Rice and Anita J o, Mr. and Mrs. Hoy Rice, and lllis Faye, and the host and host ess, Mr .and Mrs. A. SUTHERLIN BUSINESS WOMEN'S CLUB CLOSES ACTIVITIES UNTILL FALL The Associated Business Wo men's club of Sutherlin, enjoyed a banquet at the Methodist church social room Monday evening, when the ladies of the church served a seven thirty o'clock ham dinner. The tables were decorated with center pieces of snapdragons, del phiniums, regal lilies and roses, flanked by rose and blue lighted tapers. The hostesses were Mrs Betty Stamp, Mrs. Helmie Burns, Mrs. Essie Jones. Mrs. Doris Steinbach and Mrs. Eleanor Anderson. The following were guests, Mrs. Octavia Merritt. Mrs. Nila Ash- craft, Mrs. Harriet Kabler, Mrs. Virginia Stacey and Mrs. Laura Anderson. It was decided to have the first meeting in September a banquet night and have the husbands as guests. As the office of vice president was vacated by the resignation of Mrs. Archie Amorde, Mrs. Mar ion Buchanan was elected to fill the unexpired term. The chairman of the b a x a a r Mrs. Lochie Thompson, asked that all articles be left at their auto parts store, before the time so that articles can be marked. Mrs. Ora Irwin won a prize. BIRTHDAY PARTY HONORS YOUNGSTER T ON THIRD ANNIVERSARY Mr. and Mrs. Archie Amorde entertained at a birthday dinner at their home on West Fifth avenue last week honoring Karen Marie Rice on her third birthday. A large decorated birthday cake centered the Uble.
