Mrs. Robert P. Hall was a guest and members enjoy ing the evening with the three hnstpus Included Mrs. Don Gum. president, Mrs. Wayne Crooch, Mrs. William Tipton, Mrs. Verne Martin, Mrs. Charles E. Hart and Mrs. Harry Clcmons. riTirlni? fhe social hour Mrs. Hall played piano and Solovox numbers and the guests enjoyed group singing, after wnicn Mrs, Martin sane a group of numbers. Prizes for the evening were awarded to Mrs. Hart, Mrs. Crooch and Mrs. Martin. Mrs. Charles E. Hart was elect ed secretary to take the place of Mrs. Don Wilson. Committees appointed for the First Citizens' banquet to be held the last of January included: Mrs. Jack Fariss Jr., chairman, Mrs. Harry Clemons, Mrs. Wil liam Tipton and Mrs. Murray Smith with Mrs. Verne Martin and Mrs. Cartlon Hall, assisting. Following the social hour, the hostesses served lovely refresh ments. The next regular meeting will be the annual Christmas party to be held the evening of December 8 at the home of Mrs. Wayne Crooch, 1127 Harvard Avenue with Mrs. Verne Martin and Mrs. Don Gum, assisting hostesses. Those attending are asked to bring a Christmas gift to ex change not to exceed in price including tax. Those plan ning to attend are asked to notify one of the hostesses. ZACHARISENS HONORED ON TWENTY-FIFTH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY Of Interest to. many friends In Roseburg Is the eight-thirty o'clock dinner party given by Miss Jean zacharisen Saturday evening in the beautiful Elks temple at Ashland in compliment to her parent, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Zacharisen, of Medford, on their silver wedding anniver sary, Saturday evening, Novem ber 6. The serving tables were cen tered with white candles and crystal bowls of gardenias. The three-tiered wedding cake was decorated In white with pink rosebuds and silver leaves. Cov ers were placed for thirty-five guests Including close friends of the couple from Portland, Grants Pass, Medford, Ashland and Mr, and Mrs. Phil Harth of Roseburg. Following the dinner, a dance was enjoyed. Many beautiful sil ver gifts were presented to Mr. and Mrs. Zacharisen In honor of the occasion. ' The Zacharlsens formerly made their home In Roseburg, at which time Mr. Zacharisen was with the California Oregon Power Company. He is now In business in Medford. They have one daughter, Miss Jean, who also makes her home in Medford. MR. AND MRS. TAYLOR ENTERTAIN AT CHARMING OPEN-HOUSE THURSDAY Mr. and Mrs. Glenn H. Taylor, who recently moved from 223 Ella Street into their new home at 632 Cobb Street, entertained at a charming open-house party Armistice Day. Guests were in vited to call from five-thirty o'clock on through the evening hours. Beautiful chrysanthemums from the gardens of Mrs. L. J. Crafton and Mrs. Homer W. Grow, formed the attractive dec orations for the party. An elabo rate "snack-bar" was arranged for the occasion. Mrs. Taylor was assisted In serving by Mrs. L. J. Crafton. The bride- elect made the surprise announce ment at her sc.rorlty, Sigma Kappa, at the same time the bridegroom-elect entertained his fraternity brothers at Phi Delta Theta. The bride-elect is very well known In Roseburg, having at tended the local schools. While in High School, she was prominent In nu-nerous activities and is widely known as a verv talented dancer. She is a member of Orches's. the modern dance hon orary. She attended Stephens Col lege at Columbia, Mo., and is a senior at University of Washing- ion, wnere sne win do graduated next June. The bridegroom-elect will be graduated from the school of engineering at University of Washington in December 1948. The wedding date has not been announced.
