Koseburg High School basketball team travel westward this week end to trade shots with the so-tar uncieteated Coos Bay Pirates in a couple of games which may be crucial ones for both teams. The Coos Bay team is at the top of the league with 9 wins and 0 losses, and still has most of its players from last year's cham pionship team. The Indians have won all ex cept their first two games ihoth with North Bend), one of which they lost by one point and the other by two. And North Bend, In turn, lost two games to Mvrtle Point, a school which Roseburg trimmed twice later in the sea son. Koseburg is now second in the league race with 7 victories and 2 defeats, although on paper North Bend holds that place by vii iue oi d wins ana i losses. O'Dale of Near Drain Passes Away Mrs. Grace Delores O'Rale, 73. died at her home south of- Drain Tuesday morning. She was a resi ient of the counl" for 39 years. Survivors Include the widower, J I. O'Dale of Drain and a broth er A. P. Van Kirk. Services will e held in the Methodist Church at Drain Thursday at 2 P. M., with the Rev. Fred O Hunt of ficiating. Arrangements are in care ot Stearns Mortuary. Counsellor For T-B Hospitals In Oregon Sought SALLM. Ore.. Jan. 27. - The Oi-egon Tuiierculosis and Health Association asked the State Board ol Control today to adopt a program to rehabilitate mticnls at the Stale Tuberculosis Hospitals at the Dalles and Salem Dr. J. M. Odfll, superintendenl ot tne hospital ut The Dalles, said the program would reduce the number of patients who re turn to '.tie tuberculosis hospitals. The plan, submitted by Mrs. ;aiuie urr punoar, secretary ot the Association, calls for em ployment of a rehabilitation counsellor who would get $5,000 a year. She said 4G per cent of the pa tients discharged from the lnstl tution at The Palles return for further treatment, while the fig ure for the Salem Institution is 33 per cent. She said that since most of those who return ai forced to go back because they can't get Jobs or adjust themselves. The rehabilitation counsellor could give them much help She said employment of the counsellor would save the state money. The board said It would study the proposal. The board authorized sale of the Thaver home, located on the site of the proposed $2,000,000 state office building. It has reject plans to move the house and use it for a governor's mansion because it would cost $35,000 to buy a site and move it. Glendale High Five Posts 35-to-34 Win Over Myrtle Creek Glendale High School's basket ball quintet edged out Mvrtle Creek Friday at Myrtle Creek bv a 35-34, margin, after coming up from a 12-2 deficit early in the first quarter. Myrtle Creek led all the way until the last quarter, when Bob Fisher, high point man with 19 tallies, came through to bring the Glendale team from a 31-34 disadvantage to a one-point win. Friday's game as Glendale's second win over Mvrtle Creek this season. Glendale sank 7 out of 13 free throws, Myrtle Creek 6 out of 14. The halftime score was Myrtle Creek 18, Glendale 16.
