DENTON An estimated 2000 persona yes terday watched Bill Love, astride an English model bike, 1 roar around ten laps to capture sweep stake honors in the first novice motorcycle races to be. held in Douglas County. Twelve riders of this .county parUcipated in the spill-punctuated races on the cyclists': dirt track, located north of Brown's bridge near the Country Club. The card was sixmsored by the King Cobra Motorcycle Club and Love Motor Company. Love, native of Umpqua dis trict and organizer of the races, recently completed a 32,000-mile tour with his wife of the nation's largest motorcycle tracks, gain ing considerable fame on speed ways at Minneapolis, Minn., Rich mond, Va., ,and Indianapolis, Ind. Yesterday he turned in a four tenths mile lap In 27 seconds. Next week he will enter the Benton-Lane speed classic at Eugene.
