He has been traveling with his par ents for the past seven years and has been singing in religious ser vices since he was three and one Half years of age. Due to his constantly travel ling with his parents he has at tended many diffenent schools. While in the first grade, he at tended 16 different schools in eight states; while in the second grade, he attended eight schools in four states; at present he is attending Benson school in Rose burg, which is his fifth school in the third grade. Wesley will sing each evening at 7:30 o'clock, except Saturdays, through January 31, and also will sing in duets and trios with his parents. His father, the Rev. Orvllle H. Kleven, is conference evangelist in the Northern Minnesota con ference of the Methodist church. Philetarian Lodge to Meet Philetarian lodge No. 8, I. O. O. He will resume his meetings to night at 7:30 o'clock at the First Christian church, on the topic, "Christ Is Here." Visiting From Oakland Claude Palm, former Roseburg resident, now conducting a paint business in Oakland, Calif., is visiting in Roseburg. He came with his brother-in-law and sis ter, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Decker, who spent several days at Oak land visiting their son, Richard, now serving with the U. S. navy. Meeting Announced The rec ently postponed meeting of the Christmas Cheer committee has now been planned for the even ing of January 26 at 8 o'clock in the evening at the chamber of commerce office. Brown, city treasurer of Roseburg, was taken from his home in the Ump qut. hotel yesterday to Mercy hospital for medical treatment. Mr. Brown suffered Injuries in a fall Sunday. The Roseburg ambulance moved him to the hospital. Ellsworth Favors State Ballot Plan - t . WASHINGTON, Jan. 19 (AP) Representative Ellsworth of Oregon suggested last night that the soldier vote issue simmered down to whether service people were to "have a complete and legal state ballot or a short and legally doubtful federal ballot." He declared that the federal ballot plan of Senator Lucas dis regarded the constitution, which "definitely states that the quali fications of voters for federal of ficials must be determined by the several states." "If enacted Into law," Ells worth added in a radio speech, "It would permit the men and women In the armed forces to write a ballot for president, vice president and senators and rep resentatives In congress, but pro vides not the slightest assurance that any such ballots would be counted hence voted." Ho called for passage of the state ballot plan as a slmplle, workable and constitutional way of giving the service men an op portunity to vote a real ballot that will be counted on election day. This plan was offered by Rep resentative Pursell (R.-Ill.) as an amendment to the senate bill.
