ROSEBURS REWS-REVIEW, ROSEBURG, OREGON. MONDAY, JULY 1 3, 1 942. THREE :1 I gfesi' MEET THE i mm town lffA CRYER ! I Ci5 ;'jVS. Every Monday ! 1 , Like the acro batic young lady on the left, you'll want to stand on your head about the news from McKean & Carstens! Again this week they're hoarding. This time it's ALUMINUM! I found shelves filled with all kinds of Great Northern Brand kitchen ware everything from pots and pans to cookie cutters. Those boys down n Cass street seem to have had an eye on the future when they bought this stock. Get what you need while It lasts from McKean & Carstens. THE TOWN CRYER A whole truck load of flowers to Bob Harris at the Roseburg Pharm acy for being first again. This time he has "unspillable" cologne. This cute trick comes in a stick, rubs on, lasts ages, and is grand for sports wear. It's put out by Lu cien Lelong with soap and pow der to match all in "Balalaika," Pclong's spicy new odor. Be first (after your Town Cryer) with the newest perfume styles from the Roseburg Pharmacy lown by the Deer Creek bridge. THE TOWN CRYER O Father's Dav is ' long gone past, BUT , that guy to tne left remember him? Yeah, that's Pnn and HE'S still around. He told me today the thing to mend his feelings. Wist fully he described Lawson's Schick shavers in four models, two colors, and two prices. With all Schick's new features Whis kit, 2m hollow ground head, and a 2-yoar guarantee, Pop says that's just what he wants. Gift him with one from Lawson's to keep that shine in his eye. THE TOWN CRYER Pausing on Jack son St. north of the U. S. Nat'l. bank I was attracted by the colorful Ameri can flae display on tUte urftab'c mnfrs Ydll PUeSSCd it! The Handy Stand. Besides a complete magazine stock, Tommy has a drink dispenser chock full of ice from which he will draw nil the frosty buttermilk you can take for a nickel and Nesbit's orange for five pennies per glass. Join the Atkins' "Nickel Pause" club up Jackson street way. THE TOWN CRYER At Fisher's 1 !fl things were in a liuhnh. Cornerine i one of the girls I asked for an ex planation. Well, said she, who ' wouldn't be excited with a new shipment of Loma Leed dresses just unpacked? Mystery solved, I investigated for myself and found Loma Leeds in print sheers, print jerseys, and rainbow plain colors, all cut with an eye to fig ure-flattery and style. Copies of model dresses, these Loma Leeds are a wonderful bargain, but don't take my word for it. Shop at Fisher's and see for yourself. THE TOWN CRYER With a nose for M I wandered into Marsters Drug store, 1 1 - ijK 221 N. Jackson. Ernie H. A Applewhite, proprie tor, told me about one of the foot comforts Marsters specializes in. Mennen, famous maker of baby powder, makes a powder for babying your feet. You don't have to win races to catch Athlete's Foot. It's easy to pick up and easy to get rid of with Mennen's new powder, Quinsana, its deadly enemy. Those faithful feet of yours deserve a comfortable sum mer. Get Quinsana at Marsters. THE TOWN CRYER "There'snot A much news for you todnv. Crver. I'm still repairing & shoes." smiled Shorty when I stop- pod at his shop just south of Fisher's store. How ever, I did find a few farts of In terest to you. Shorty can't stretch himself and doesn't want to, BUT he CAN stretch your shoes and he DOES want to. He'll stretch 'em all over or In spots. It won't change the shape of your shoes a particle. "I give 'em the works, but they never show it." Thus said Shorty as I left his shop with a resolve to take those old brown pinchers to him tomorrow.
