The wedding veil of silk net was fingertip in length and was edged with lace and arranged with a Mary Stuart cap of satin covered with seed pearls to match the neckline of the wedding dress. She carried an all-white bride's bouquet centered by gardenias and encircled by white carnations and maidenhair ferns. Satin rib bins attached to the bouquet held In place tiny sprays of swansonla. The maid of honor, Miss Pearl Horning, of Plattsburg, New York, was charming in a powder blue marquisette gown fashioned with lace Inserts and a swirl skirt. The sleeves of the gown were full and long and Ihe neckline was close fitting. She carried a boil- duct of Picardy gladioli buds around gardenias and tied with pink satin ribbon. MISS ADELINE STEWART ENTERTAINS AT CHARMING TEA ON WEDNESDAY One of the largest and love- jllest affairs of the season was ttie beautiful tea given from two to five o clock Wednesday after noon by Miss Adeline Stewart, who Invited a hundred friends to her attractive home on Chad .ciek street. The hydrangea hedge, banking the long porch of the home, is especially beautiful at this time of the year and the porch was arranged as a living room for the tea hours, so that the guests could enjoy viewing the gor geous hydrangea blooms. The bushes are immense in height and width and every bloom is enormous in size. Bright-colored summer flowers were attractively arranged about the rooms of the home, while the tea table, covered by a love ly lace cloth, was centered by a mixed bouquet and tall lighted tapers. The guests were received by Miss Stewart. Mrs. G. V. Wim- berly, Mrs. C. B. Wade and Mrs. R. D. Coen assisted about the rooms. Mrs. S. J. Shoemaker and Mrs. E. S. Hall presided at the tea table from two to three o'clock; Mrs. J. C. Hume and Mrs. George M. Brown poured between the hours of three and four o'clock and Mrs. F. H. Chur chill and Mrs. R. W. Marsters were at the urns from four to five o'clock. Mrs. Clair K. Al len and Miss Verna Carothcrs assisted in the serving during the afternoon. A number of summer visitors in Roseburg were present for the occasion and the afternoon was pleasantly spent in visiting. BETTY LOU AND NEAL SCHRIMPF HONORED AT FAREWELL PARTY SAT. Betty Lou and Neal Sehrimpf, daughter and son of Mr. and Mrs. E. J. Sehrimpf, of this city, who have moved to Grants Pass to reside, were honored at a de lightful farewell party Saturday evening at Brand's on the North Pacific highway. A lovely hand kerchief shower was given to Betty Lou from the group. Miss Fritzie Hamilton and Miss Wanda Olmcheid acted as joint chairmen for the party. Dancing was enjoyed and re freshments were served.
