The hydrangea hedge, banking
the long porch of the home, is
especially beautiful at this time
of the year and the porch was
arranged as a living room for
the tea hours, so that the guests
could enjoy viewing the gor
geous hydrangea blooms. The
bushes are immense in height
and width and every bloom is
enormous in size.
Bright-colored summer flowers
were attractively arranged about
the rooms of the home, while
the tea table, covered by a love
ly lace cloth, was centered by a
mixed bouquet and tall lighted
tapers.
The guests were received by
Miss Stewart. Mrs. G. V. Wim-
berly, Mrs. C. B. Wade and Mrs.
R. D. Coen assisted about the
rooms. Mrs. S. J. Shoemaker
and Mrs. E. S. Hall presided at
the tea table from two to three
o'clock; Mrs. J. C. Hume and
Mrs. George M. Brown poured
between the hours of three and
four o'clock and Mrs. F. H. Chur
chill and Mrs. R. W. Marsters
