Dec. 4. Colonel William Mitchell's assertion that the dirigible Shenandoah was de stroyed by the expansion of her gas cells was disputed before the Mltcbell court martial today by Col onel C. O. Hall, army dirigible ex pert, who was aboard the Shenau-' doah when she was wrecked. The destruction of the craft, said Colonel Hall, was "due to the dyn amic force of the storm" in which Blie perished. Adverting to Colonel . Mitchell's complaint that no parachutna were carried by the Shenandoah, the witness said that parachutes would have been "absolutely uselesB."
