The letter is as follows: "I wish to acknowledge receipt of your letter of July 20th and to ad vise you that your letter of July 3rd addressed to the state highway com mission reached me in Portland and the matter waa referred to the mem bers of the commission. "It was brought up Ifor considera tion at the meeting held in Portland on July 20th, and the secretary was instructed to advtse you as follows: "That the commission considers the section of the Coos-Douglas high way botween Coquille and Myrtle Point to be of sufficient importance to warrant the paving of it when the funds are available, and to advise you that it was the polity of the commission to continue the grading and gravel or macadam surfacing of the entire CooB-Douglas fproject when completed, and that the engi neer has been Instructed to adver tise for gravelMng or macadamizing that part of the highway between Coqullle and Myrtle Point which Is now graded to standard width and now ready for surfacing and such parts as may be made ready this year. "The commission at a previous meeting instructed the engineer to advertise for gravel surfacing the section now under contract for grad ing between Remote and Camas val ley, as soon as the grading contract sufficiently advanced to permit the beginning of the surfacing con tract."
