MAX WEISS, PROP. tt-afe The rapid increase of boys Into the ranks of tlte "hobo" element is again brought to our attention l) the stati'menl of City Marshal Nor man to the effect that on his dally vIsitB to the "hobo" camp, near the railroad track, he finds never less than one-fourth of Its crew to be persons under age. Last Friday morning, for Instance, out of some 30 "hoboes" In the camp, fully 12 of them were boys. Nearly all ol these youngsters have yellow stained lingers, showing them to be cigarette slaves, and thHr faces, to use the language of Marshal Norman, have the "yellow-bark novel look." How to abate the growing evil of the boy tramp is a problem that must he solved sooner or later or the peni tentiaries will have to bo enlarged to accommodate an Increased number ot Inmates.
