Gibson, and the three will then proceed on to their future homo in Portlnnd The Oregon state militia has been allotted $26,241 out of the 2,000,- 000 appropriation made nt the last session of congresB. Washington gets J12.486 and Idaho f 91B3. The ap portionment Is based on the enlisted strength of the militia in the various states. Claim Agent Sherman, of the Southern Pacific Co-., is here from San Francisco, checking up with number of freight conductors, which proceeding hus to do with a suit for heavy damages (lied ngnlnst the rnil road company by a Tacoma livestock firm, for alleged injury to a shipment of cattle from Gazelle, Calif., to Portland, Or. Engineer and Mrs. Frank Carmen have moved to Eugene, where Mr. Carmen will take the regular run to Wendllng. On Tuesday evening pre vious to their depnrture they were tendered a farewell reception by their brother and sister members of the Rebeknh lodge, which also present ed Mrs. Carmen with a handsome cut-glass bowl. Covers were laid for fifteen ladles at a 1 o'clock luncheon given Wed nesday by Mrs. M. Josephson, at her home, in this city. Mrs. Elbart B. The reception rooms were decornted with white chrysanthemums and the dining table with pink roses.
