J. D. Hamilton. County Judge (I. W. Wonaeott left this afternoon for Portland to attend the state good roads conven tion, which opens In that city tomor row. .1. D. Zurcher and F. E. "Kid" Mangles, the high diver ol the American Amusement Co., did not go home to San Francisco after his accident at Medford, as stated last Saturday. Instead, he came to Koseburg. and will make his regular dive every evening of this week. This company bears letters from Medford. Ashland and other towns In which they have appeared, recom mending the shows as clean and the management as prompt hill payers. 1'nder direction of County Court, II. J. lienn and a party of men left this morning for the Mountain House on the Coos Hay road, taking with them the county road grader and other road building equipment. They will work for an indefinite time imlting the road In good condition between there and the Coos county line. As the people of Coos have been . doing some substantial work on their part of this road It will probably be put Into such condition that it will he passable all winter. C. Hicks, of the Jlaptlst church, performing the ring ceremony beneath a large white bell, trimmed In green. The wedding was attended by the immediate' family of the bride and a few invited friends. The bride. gowned in' whito volard silk and car rying a boquet of white carnations, was attended by XIIbb Robin Conn, Mr. A. J. Cox, a brother of the bride. acted as; best man. - Miss Mamie French played the wedding march on an organ. The Cox home looked beautiful In its decorations of roses, sweet peas, asparagus ferns and car nations. -Supper was served after the ceremony. Mr. Stewart is a former deputy sheriff of this county and Is engaged In the Insurance business in this city. He, Is a lieutenant of the Roseburg company , of the Oregon National Guard and a member of the team that will represent the. state militia at' the annual rifle tourna ment to be held this month at Camp Perry, Ohio. His bride was until recently employed as a deputy in the Roseburg postoltlce, a position which she, tilled with credit. On the night of their marriage, Mr, Stewart and his bride teft for Camp Perry on their honeymoon trip. At the conclusion of the na tional shoot, Mr. and Mi'B. Stewart will Journey to his old home In East Jordan, Mich. After a short visit there with relatives, they will leave on their return to Roseburg to reside.
