Harbour, the popular writer of books for boys, tells the following story In Our Young I'eople of a street gamin who showed he had the right "ntulL"' In him: Sume sehoolhoys wore on their way to school one morning.' One of them, a Utile fellow, was ter ribly annoyed hy the tensing of a blj; ger boy and tiiiilly "shied" an npple core nt his tormentor. Leaning against a lamppost up thi rst root was a typical gamin, ragged unkempt and far removed from the tidy, well fed and well dressed school boys. Their life ways were far apart. A bundle of newspapers was under hi--arm, and ho seemed to be looking about for a customer. Suddenly he let the unsold papers drop to the snowy ground and came running light ly and swiftly down the street, hi5 blue eyes atlamo nnd his grimy fists clinched. Tho next Instant the big. well dressed assailant of tho small boy found himself seized hy tho collar and jerked violently to the ground by n buy of about his own size, who said boldly: "Take a kid o yer size when ye wan; tor fight, yer hlg coward!
