Wright, aged 11 years, a son of Lincoln Wright, was severely Injured Thursday afternoon In an encounter with the 13-year-o.d son of Conductor f Hastings. The Hastings boy was an- gered by something the Wright lad had done while at school, and when go ing homo pounced upon him at the railroad crossing near the freight de-; pot. Young Hastings threw tne Wright boy to the ground and jumied upon him with his feet, breaking his victim's left arm two inches above the elbow and dislocating that joint. Tobin, a mining man from Baker City, fired three shots at hor in her rooms in the Ainsworth block In Port land Thursday evening, with the in tention of killing her. Two of the bullets were dctlocted by her corset steels, but the third pierced her arm. She fled from the room and Tobin ap plied a lighted match to the paper wrapper enclosing a box of dynamite which be carried and to which a fuse was attached. Then he shot himself in the head, expiring Instantly. Attract ed by the noise of the shots, a man in an adjacent otllce rushed into the room and put out the blazing fire just in time to prevent an explosion which would have wrecked the whole building and perhaps brought death to a score or more of people. ..New Arrivals..
