J. L. Harbour, the popular writer of
books for boys, tells the following
story In Our Young I'eople of a street
gamin who showed he had the right

to school one morning.'
One of them, a Utile fellow, was ter
ribly annoyed hy the tensing of a blj;
ger boy and tiiiilly "shied" an npple
core nt his tormentor.
This roiled the bully's wrath, nnd

ing on without a finger lifted in tin1
little fellow's defense.

unkempt and far removed from the
tidy, well fed and well dressed school
boys. Their life ways were far apart.

"Yer a coward; that's what you are!"
said tho gamin. "Ye don't daro touch
a kid o' yor size!"
Nor did he. Mumbling nnd threaten
ing, ho walked off, with the jeers of his
schoolmates tinging In his cars.
