3 THE CHEMAWA AMERICAN Living in a GirVs Dormitory Is your dormitory life like that of your home life? Do you enjoy living in the dormitory? In Winona Hall, where I live, it is very nice and comfortable. We have nice furniture for our rooms, and a very nicely furnished living room. We have radiators in every room. If it gets too cold, we can turn them on. We have washing machines, dryers, and irons with which we can do our laundry. Baths upstairs, and downstairs are well- equipped with the necessities. We have TV in both recreation rooms and are allowed to watch from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each week day and from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on week-ends. Chemawa girls enjoying a singing ses sion in the music room. KITCHEN DETAIL “Boy oh Boy!” “What a day this is.” Every morning I get up and say this, I get out of bed drowsy and sleepy and try to get to work in the kitchen. It is a real chore to dress, “Boy! oh Boy! this is too early for me.” After I dress I wash up and make my bed before I go. This is quite a chore for a little hobo like me, but I am getting used to it now. I finish my work in the kitchen be fore I go to class. By the time I get to school I am wide awake. Jack Morry Special student group dinner served in school kitchen. being CHEERLEADING A lot of cheering and voting took place before the pep club finally chose Gloria David, Betty Hofseth, Kathy Inga, Sally Petluska, and Gladys Wells, as this year’s yell leaders. Practicing regularly 12 hours a week on preparation for di recting the cheers of the Pep Club, at our sports activities. A number of girls tried out before the Pep Club finally made these five their choice. In interviewing Mrs. Jones, our recreation leader, we found that the Cheerleaders are working on several new routines which they hope to put into practice early in the football season. Each Cheerleader will be identi fied with their name on the left side of their uniform.
