T h e invited guests, together w ith the class, num bered about seventy persons. T he gym was beautifully decorated w ith th e classcolors, gold and red; red hearts dangled on the in tricately arran g ed stream ers th ro u g h out th e big hall. A very laughable farce program , rep resen tin g the class in reg u la r session, preceded a n u m b er of guessing contests and num erous u n iq u e diversions, and the en tire evening was devoted to so cial pleasures. T here was n o t a dull m om ent for any of the guests or others. A t an appointed tim e th e p resid en t, Roy C ourville, announced th a t it was in order for a procession to be form ed, headed by the S u p erin ten d en t and w ife, and all repaired to th e dom estic science d in in g hall for th e b an q u et. O u r beautiful dom estic science dining room never looked p rettier. Mrs. Brickell and her ju n io r class prepared th e splendid d in n er w hich was served by th e ju n io rs faultlessly. D u rin g the banquet, be tw een courses, the seniors very ingeniously installed the incom ing officers w ho were to serve d u rin g th e last sem ester. T h e function th ro u g h o u t was a great success. W E D D IN G B E L L S Mr. G eorge W . B ent, and Miss O ra S cholder w ere m arried on T h u rsd ay , Feb. 8, 1923, at V ancouver, W ash in g to n . T h is very uopular couple surprised all C hem aw a except a few of their closest friends. T h ey slipped away on W ednesday, M r. Bent on a p rete x t of a tten d in g a Bov Scout convention and Miss S cholder to do some sh opping in th e city , one going by auto stage and the other on th e S outhern Pacific. H o w ever, on T h u rsd ay they telep h o n ed im m ediately after th e cerem ony ap p risin g us of th e ir m airiage. U pon their retu rn F rid ay noon they w ere met by a delegation of friends, h u ndreds of them , to g eth er w ith the brass band. S upt. and M rs. H all gave them a reception at th eir home the sam e evening, providing an o p p o rtu n ity for th eir m any friends to greet them . W edding cakes were in evidence w hich th e bride and groom jo y fu lly cu t; also a huge b rid e ’s boquet of orchid roses and m aiden hair fern was presented to th e bride, a com plim ent from the F . E . U . Mr. Bent is our disciplinarian and Miss S cholder sm all b oys’ m atro n . Both are m ost estim able people and very popular at Chem aw a. M r. Bent is from O klahom a, while Miss Scholder is from San Diego co u n ty, C alifornia. T h e best w ishes and co n g ratu latio n s from all C h e m aw a go o u t to Mr. and Mrs. B ent. On S aturday evening our g irls ’ team will drive to S tay to n , w here they will play th e high school g irls. Both team and coach are w orking hard to perfect plays and com binations th at th ey expect to use in th is gam e.
