Wednesday, July 29, 2015 The Nugget Newspaper, Sisters, Oregon Tumbleweed Peepshow at Angeline’s Author to read from novel at book store Oregon author Brian Doyle will read from and sign his new novel, “Martin Marten,” at Paulina Springs Books in Sisters on Saturday, August 8 at 6:30 p.m. Doyle, author of many previous books including the much-acclaimed “Mink River,” is a marvelous sto- ryteller whose stageworthy public speaking skills will have you laughing, applaud- ing, and maybe crying. His new book, set on Oregon’s Mt. Hood, is two stories in one. The first is that of a 14-year-old boy named Dave, who is growing up in the hamlet of Zig Zag; the second is of a marten named Martin, who, like Dave, is coming of age. Their separate lives will ultimately mix and mingle, for both are animals existing in the same habitat.
