All Hax Fields Be Pulled, Says Board All flax fields under contract by tho stnte will be pulled. The weeds will be segregated from the flux straw, and the growers will be paid for the actual quantity of flax straw produced. This decision was arrived at by the board of control this morning. The board met this morning fur the primary purpose of hearing the re ort of temporary superintendent Crawford, who has been for several days investigating the flax fields. This. report shows that Iu acres of the to tal now in flux under stute contract is very dirty with weeds of various kinds, it is estimated that in these fiolds weeds predominate to the extent of '" per cent. The report 4ioe not consid er these acres worth -pulling, but t.icy will be pulled anyway. l-'rom 3 per cent to J3 per cent mix ed weeds is the estimate given in the reirt of the balance of 44H1... a-rs. With careful handling most of these weeds can be eliminated. The best of the entire crop is about 78 kt cent in length and quality. This is attributed in the reiort to 'the lute spring and the poor condition of the In ml at seed ing time. A coward never won a buttle in life 's struggle. THE MARKETS " !
