The W. C. T. V. became Interested In the case, and appealed to the county court with the result that provision was made for her keeping in the city. That was about two months ago, and you will remember the weather was cold then, and for the, lack of ade quate and comfortable quarters she was compelled to sit in a general room provided for the men, and list en to their conversation, which at times was not of an uplifting charac ter." An inmate of the institution, whose name need not be divulged at this time, is authority for the state ment to the reporter that this blind woman was compelled to share hex quarters with a blind squaw, and that, rather than, associate with her, she sought out the general room pro vided for the men. San Diego, Cal., June 21 Reports came from Ensenada today that Pa trick Glennon. a British subject, was executed bv the Mexicans at Alamo, Lower California, two weeks ago. The belief is expressed here that the British government will act as soon as official reports on the matter are received. It is reported that Glennon, who has been at Alamo for some time, having mining interests there, was killed at the same time John D. Car roll and Dr. Foster, two Americans, were executed. Alamo Is 80 miles south of Ensen ada and there is no telegraph con nection with the place. It is not believed here that any regular trial was held at Ensenada, Acting Consul Sawday reported the execution of Carroll and Foster to Washington, and is now on his way to the capital. . ct FLEW TWO MILKS WITH . McCrlllis, of Providence, Rhode Island, will pre side. At 10 o'clock this morning a woman with a camp stool, a spirit lamp and kettle, a tea pot, a basket of sandwiches and a rug camped on the green in St. James park, in a spot commanding a fine view of the route over which to morrow's parade will pass. She was the pioneer of a host of others who have since gone to the park. At midnight the, parks were crowded with spectators eager to view the pageanit, even at the cost of camp ing out all night. The final rehearsals were hold at Westminster abbey during the after noon. Heavy pur chases of wheat here yesterday fol lowed reports from South Dakota that crop conditions are the worst In the history of the state. Three whole counties, Coddington, Clark and Spink, all large producers, were represented as being practical ly a failure for wheat this season.
