It Is con fidently predicted here today that the inter-marriage of whites and Japan ese will be prohibited in Washington after the present meeting of the legis lature. Two measures forbidding marriages of this character have been introduced, by Representative Wray, of King county and the other by Representative Ghent. The bills follow as a result.of the notoriety gained by Seattle following the marriage between Gunjiro Aoki and Gladys Emery, daughter of Arch bishop Deacon Emery, of Corte Ma dera, California, two years ago. The couple were married in Washington because the California law prohibits such unions. Many other couples followed the example set by the Californlans and white ' a colony of Japanese with wives was established near Seattle. o FIFTY ISF.I.OW ZKKO TIIItOl'GH OWADIAX WEST UNITED PRBSS LEA8HD WIRB.
