These deposits, which also contain other rare minerals ,aro situated at the -foot of Blue Mountain, formerly known as Ynmpa Plateau, and aro similar to those on Conl Creek, Rio Blanco county, Colo. Tho ores pre sent a beautiful display of colors. Tho carnotlte, which constitutes u relatively small percentage of the minerals found, occurs in tho form of, a film or 'thin cruBt of powdery material of bright canary-yellow color. A yellow mineral which closely re sembles carnotlte In color and ap pearance, and which occurs In even greater amount, proved, on testing by exports of the Geological Survey, to. be a vanadate of copper.
