A motion by R. C. Bishop was carried, thqt $25Q that wa& set aside for the Salem float at the Portland Rose carnival, together with the $250 now pn hand, be appropriated for the qherry fair. ' The mattjr of the Fourth of July colcbratfon was also taken up. It has been definitely settled that Sa lem. U to have a gigantic celebration on the Fourth, and that It is not to be connected with the cherry fair. In spsaklng of the celebration, Chairman Huckesteln of the Fourth of July committee snld: "Unanimous action was taken Init night by the business nen's league to celebrate tho Fourth at Salem. Messrs, R. C. Bishop, Hal Patton and R, D. Yantls were appointed a committee to ral?o funds, and today they secured $1250. Tho mark was set at 92000, but It Is probable that we will not need that amount.
