But the way it has, been put up is the boat proposition of the kind that I have over listened to." The plan submitted by the Salem business men was then ondorsed by an unanimous rising vote. O. V. Meyor, who Is a property owner, moved Hiat the plan sub mitted by tho representatives of the Salem cpmmoroial bodies bo ap proved and endorsed by the unani mous voto of the Commercial club and bus!nos mon of Stayton. and that they pledge their hearty co operation to secure the necessary stock subscription to build an elee trie road to Salem Carried. I Geo. Brown and Willis Caldwell wero chosen by the Stayton Coramor c'al club to represent tho business men of that city on tho board of truetcc3 for itho stockholders, and with two mombors of tho Salem Commercial bodies and ono county official to bo chosen to net with thorn, will submit a plan to finance tho ontorprlse. Many of tho Stayton mon wero ready to subserlbo Btock Saturday night but it was decided to havo tho organization perfect and get a moro definite basis for action. Thoro was great enthusiasm for two hours, and nil who expressed themselves nt tho meeting and nftor ward wero potfectly harmonious and enthuslnDtlc in their determlnntlon to take hold and build tho lino to Salem without waiting Rny further for other corporations or promoters, tt Is expected thnt notion will bo tnkon at Salem within a few days to completo tho organization and submit tho plan or procedure that ban boon adopted by tho Stayton Commercial club to tho Salem com mercial bodies for their approval.
