Tho Fort Ancient Culturo occupied portions of tho vnlloys which woro later occupied by tho Hopewell Culturo, as was evi denced by tho results of tho explora tions of tho Hnrncss mound group during tho Bummer of 1905. After completing tho explorations of tho Harness mound, tho articles taken therefrom being of the higher cul turo, I examined a mound located outsldo of tho great clrclo nnd not far distant from tho Harness group, directly to tho south, nnd found this mound to bo n burial mound of the Fort Ancient Culture. At tho contor of tho mound, and a fow fcot under tho surfaco, was found nn Intrusive cromatcd burial, similar in ovory ro spect to tho cromntcd burials of the Harness mound.
