Wabiiinuton, May 21, The Kentucky governorship caco was decided by tho United States supreme Court today in tho interest of Beckham, nfllruilng tho de cision of the Kentucky court of appals. Tho opinion was handed down by Chief Justico Fuller and tho enso was dis missed for want of jurisdiction und that tho determination of eases of contests for stato ofilcers must necessarily bo settled by tho political branch of the govern ment. Tho branch had not acted in tho Kentucky caso when general assembly took jurisdiction. Thoro was no appeal from tho assembly's decision, which was favorablo to Goebol and Breckhnm, excopt to the tribunal of the people which tribunal tho Chief Justico said was always in session. The opinion was not unani mous, Justiceg Brewer, Harlan and McKounn dissenting. Tho speech of Senator Wellington, which camo next, was cheered to the echo.
