Last Wednesday evening tho Sunday School Band, of tho First Mothodist church, including tho visitors of the Home department of tho school, togeth er wl'h tho Sunday school orchcstra,wa delightfully entertained at the home of tho superintendent, 0. J. Atwood, in Capital Park. A short business meeting was hold and a report of tho newly-organized Home department was given by tho su perintendent of that department, Mrs. W. R. Winans. Thore wore 129 mem bers enrolled in tho districts, that had reported up to that time. Tho member ship consists of persons, who, though unable to regularly attend the weekly sessions of the school, pledge themselves to study tho Sunday school lesson for one-half hour each week They uro ac corded tho full privilege, of members of the- main school, including the free use of tho Sunday tchool library of over 500 volumes Mrs. Bocsehcn, of the Fr'mary de partment gasoa roport of tho Cradle Roll, a now feature of tho Primary de partment. This is for children under 3 years of ago, or too young to attend tho regular sessions, and has 39 memhurs enrolled. Tho membership of tho main school in actual attendance during March is a little over -100, in addition to the 1G8 members of the Home department and Cradle Roll. The averago attendance during tho quarter ending April I was 35 per cent larger tlmu for the corres ponding period last year. As an appropriate conclusion of tho business session Miss Graco Pohlo read an cxcellont paper containing somo val uable hints to teachers.
