will engage in active mining, but sho
will establish herself In a lino of work

profitable.
In association with Miss llyvro, of
I'uyallup, Wn., an old friend, Mrs.
Nlchnl will go north with n completes
outfit for a hospital. They will tako
three fonts, 12x10, 14xL0 and 10x20
respectively, and In those tlioy will open
thoir lioipltal.
A complete outfit of furniture, bed
ding, stoves, cooking utensils, etc., will
bo taken, as well as drugs and hospital
supplies. Of perlshablo foodstuffs and
canned goods about tliroo months sup
plies will bo taken, as it is desired to
have thoso supplies as fresh as fiossiblo.
Tho lower freights in tho fall will also
mako it profllnblo to defor shipment of
freight.
Two trained nurses will bo taken
along, and a doctcor at I'uynlliip Is also
talking of joining In tho venture
Mrs. Nichol will devoto her personal
attention to tho eulitiary department,
which is a very Important branch of
hospital work. Flie has studied tho sub-'
Jcr-t of cooking for convalescents, and
will spend souio time before hor depart
ure at tho Portland Sanitarium, where
this subject Is given special attention
and has liven reduced to a science.
They will go north on tho steamer
