It Is understood that Templcton of Eugene, performed a very ungentle- manly act last Saturday, at the state field meet. AsScott, our pole ranker, was preparing to take a run and leap over the pole, Templcton grabbed Scott's arm in Ills muscular grip, squeezing It quite severely, nnd at the same time saying, "jou can never Jump that, Scott." However, our pluck little Scott "stayed with" his bulky antagonist, from the upper val ley town. In speaking of the result of the field day Saturday President Hawley remarked In chapel Monday morning that the management of the school was thinking of placing old Wil lamette on an equal footing with the other colleges, pertaining to athletic sports.
