At this trial sho was not convicted. Sho was arrested again in May, 1G09, and again commit ted to jail. At tho following term of court sho was indicted, pleaded not guilty and was tried boforo a jury. This jury then failed to agreo, and sho was remanded to jail until court should con vene agaiil in tho fall. At that term tho jury rendered a vordiot of guilty, but tho court was not satisfied. It obtain ed an export opinion on witchcraft from somo miuisters, and still not being sat isfied referred tho mattor to tho gouoral court Sho remained in prison until May, 1070, when tho genoral court roleascd hor on tho payment of tho "just fees" of tho trial and ou condition sho should loavo tho state. Catherino Harrison loft tho stato and wont to Westchester, N. Y., but hor reputation preceding her tho inhabit ants complained to tho governor.
