The ar mor plate fired at the Indian Head Droving grouuds, for experimental purposes, was a plate so treated that It could be manufactured at a cost slightly exceeding the amount now paid for tho nickel plate. A largo crowd of coloted people assembled at the Grand Central depot yesterday morning, bound torn picnic at Col umbia park. An Amulet of Do Soto. WAHltKNSiuma, Mo., July 0. During the meeting of the Stale Teiicheis' Association at this placi' lu Juno there was an exhibit of u most queer medal which istuipposed to be an amulet worn by Do Soto during his exploration of this part of the country. It is of pure silver, and bears inscription on both sides, while it also bears the insignia of tho popo and tin imago on one side, also a representation of Christ on tho cross betw een two thieve-, while on tho other side tho Inscription of a representation of tho last supper.
