Moires thought property rights above should be protected by a proper draw. Carried as so amended. REPORTS. By street commissioner that E. M. Croisan be allowed to lay sewer at his expense in block 19. To com mittee on streets. By Capital Engine Co., that W. J. Holmau and R. H. Price had been re-elected engineer and driver. Filed. BOARDING PRISONERS. The ordinance fixing fees of city marshal was read third time. Com mittee on ways and means is au thoiUed to let boarding of prisoners to lowest bidder, while at present marshal gets $1,00 a day for board ing them. Moores moved to amend that all fees iu excess of $1500 a year be turned over to city. Button asked who would get the meals to tho prisoners or the prisoners to their meals. Ordiuance passed. The city has been served with an other notice from Mrs. Eastou, objecting to filling of hei property. STATE STREET RAILROADS. Hunt reported on petition of citi zens to allow electric lallway to run up State stieet, that tame be granted. Hutton asked if committee had considered the crowded condition of Twelfth street. Hunt thought another track could bo got iu there. Moores said the hoiso car line had bton given an exclustvo right on that street. Ho was opposed to allowing two horse car lines on pny residence street. Messrs. Cottle and Derby had asked him to submit a written statement, (which he read,) to the effect that they would within u reasonable time electrify the line. A protest signed by E. F. Park hurst, Wm. England, F. N. Derby F. A. Turner, Geo. Williams, H. W. Cottle nntl others was presouted, which also stated that the horse car line would positively be electrified within a reasonable time. Lafore said the only way to get an electilo road on State street was to grant the petition of tho Electric company and he moved adoption of Hunt's report. Hunt was oppospd to granting ex clusive rights on any street. Both Hues touched the depot, und it would hurt the horse car property no more to run on State than on Ferry. He favored extensions of lines In all dliectlons. Eluttou said it was wrong to run tho horse car Hue out of tow n. Ii was very desirable in its day. The city would get into trouble if It tried to put three tracks on 12th street. Ho favored giving the new company a chance. THE VOTE.
