T1IU11SUAY NICJHT Dr. J. O. Peek, of New York, spoke on missions aud t lie work of the church. His subject was "The Conversion of the World U) Chilst nn Assumed Certainty." It was the decree of the Almighty God. The fact that he has promised this is guaranty of its fuMlliment. He has covenanted to give the heath en tn the oliuieh for a popsofslou to the uttermost parts of the earth. The triumphs of eighteen huudred years are piwif that tho work is surely progressing. It took a thous and years in secure the first fifty millions of nominal Christians. In 18S0 there were 710,000,000 of all such. At the ratio of the past eighty years of progress by 1050 the whole world will be under tho sway of Christianity. The Increase of converts In 1800 In our foreign mis sions wus 12J per cent greater than tho Increase of th. whole church. There have been 10.000 conversions iu India this year. It costs only $T0 n year to support n native pastor in India. The meeting was a very successful one, aud the address was one of the great features of this con ference.
