A peculiar caso disposed of nt Cald well court was that of a man who had been tried by tho mayor of Lenoir for violation of a town ordinanco and had pleaded guilty. A special from Priceylllo says: Tho crisis camo at Prlcovillo yesterday about 11 o'clock, wlion the miners and a crowd of sympatliizors from tho surrounding country gathered about the camp of tho state militia and captured tho troops and con victs, marched them to tho depot, put tlicm on a train and shipped them to Kuoxvlllo. Tho camp was on a llttlo knoll surrounded on nil sides by mountains. Tho mipcrs and friends, numbering twelve or fifteen hundred, divided intoBquads and approached tho camp from four sides. They sent a flag of truco uud a committee to tho officers in command. Thoy notified tho offi cers that they enmo to take tho convicts peacefully if possible, by forco if necessary. Tho ofllcera parleyed awhile then agreed to sur render. Tho troops wero allowed to keep their arms and ammunition, and with the convicts wero marched to tho train and scut to this city, arriving about 4:30. The troops, who numbered about 107, aro at the armory of tho Knoxville rifles, where thoy now remain, awaiting thu governor's orders, The convicts wero locked in Jail. An immense crowd met tho troops at tho depot. Tho men had been on duty nearly flvo days, and had scon little in tho way of provisions and camp equip ments. Tho city is now intensely excited. Leading mou of all political parlies say tho law must bo upheld. Tho sympathy which had been entirely on tho sido of tho minors, Is now against them for their lawless net at a tlmo when everything was being done to relieve their situation. The mob Is celebrating its victory by cheering, carouslng,uud shooting, A forco of COO men, properly equipped aud led, could subdue tho entlro party, for they havo no idea of npouly facing a good force. They knew from statements made that troops would not fight, but overyono feels that the mob has made n bad mistake, and will bo subdued; In other words, thoy have lost publia sympathy. It is reported hero tiiat ten com panies of state nillltlu aro en route with arms uud gatling guns, and that they will bo taken to Coal Oieek at onco. A report also comes from Coal Creek saying tho minora declaro dial no troops can bo lauded there. There aro some threats that thoy will wreck trains or burn rail road bridges. Tho miners uro get ting tho best wuges ever paid them, aud mako from SCO to $1G0 per month, according to ability and amount of time put on. Mimii'jiis, July 21.
