H Learning of Into numerous in Bqulrlcsin regard to thu mnnage- nicnt ot tho nsylum for insane for the state of Oregon, I would re H spect fully ask your vnluablc paper B to make the following inquiries that tho public may know exactly what nuswers those in charge have to m make. Inquiry No. 1. How many in- sane patients have run away in tho past year that the public has never known of? E No. 2. How much wine and I orange cider, etc., does Irving get 1 as a retainer from a certain house In I rialem? No. 3. How about those fruit jars and raisins etc., (to bo continued shortly.) No. 4. Were there ever any vege tables sent to Irving in East Port- laud belonging to the state of Ore gon? No. 5. Tell the public something about the last woman found dead? No. G. Did the superintendent ever make these remarks to the last grand jury, that if 1'cnnoyer was re elected ho would resign; he wauted no inorel'enuoyer. But should there bo a change, and they wishing him to hold over, he would willingly I entertain such a proposition. And what was meant by the remark that he (Lane) had got where he could do better than take an ap pointment? A plain straightforward answer to tho above inquiries will greatly oblige a democrat who has always supported tho Lane family, from I Joseph Lane down to the present I time. A Di:.mocai.
