At on elevation of two thou sand feet above sea level, on the homestead of George Wilker, atten tion was attracted by a cold current of air rushing ."rom the earth's sur face. Beneath a moss bed, three or four iuches deep, investigation dis closed an ice vein four inches thick. Furtlier investigation disclosed al ternate layers of ice aud gravel.
