To clay the corrodors and rotuudns are crowded to their utmost capacity. A great deal of lobbying is being done by friends of some of tho members, who are interested in' tho passage of certain measures before the senate is over. And now Oregon is to have a real live board of railroad commissioners, the House this morning having passed tho bill over the governor's veto. The commission is about as In former days powerless. As Sen ator VcatclTsaid, about all there 'is to it Is salary. The time for the introduction of new bills has passed. The laws that are to be made havo already been Introduced. TUESDAY P. M. SESSION. The vote, the question being, "Shall the bill pass notwith standing tho veto of the governor?" The vote stood 22 to 8 in favor of the bill. At 10:25 under a special order tho House considered S. B. 75, to amend an act to create and establish a Board of Railroad Comm'ssioners, bill was passed in the Senate and House over tho Govenor'u veto. Kirk moved a call of tho house. Some one in search of a good loca tion for the mercantile business would do well to come over to Marl on, as there is no better location in tho state of Oregon. E. Davis, of Gray Eagle, Minnesota, n neighbor of Mrs. Wm. P. George of this place, arrived with a view of making this his future homo. Samuel Critchlow has sold out his interest in Mr. Norton's place which lie had rented to Norton. We un derstand that Mr. Critchlow and Mr. Barendrick of Salem have bought the mill at Jefierson.
