Resolved, That they are request ed to use their best endeavors to enact a law compelling all men do ing business as butchers, or others slaughtering cattle for market, to keep a record of ail marks and brands of cattle purchased, and the names of parties from whom pur chased; also to retain hides of all cattle slaughtered for a period of thirty days, open to inspection by all persons who wish to examine tho same, and providing a severe penalty for tho violation of this law. Resolved, That we are in favor of precinct assessors, and demand a fair a&schsment of all real nnd per sonal property. Resolved, That wo are In favor of tho continuance of the Railroad Commission, believing their services havo been beneficial to the State of Oregon. Resolved, That, as tho Supreme Court of the State of Oregon has de cided that the state has no valid title to tho Agricultural farm at Corvallis, tho same being tho prop erty ot the M. E. church, South, We request the legislature to discon tinue all appropriations to said in stitution, and provide somo means whereby the state shall be provided with, an Agricultural College. Resolved, That we are In favor of a change iu the assessment and taxation laws, so as to provide pre cinct assessors; and that taxes after they become delinquent shall bear interest at tho rate of twelve per cent; and that a county and state board of equalization bo provided for. Resolved, that wo favor a change In tho road law, providing for pub lication of petition for a new road or change of road in a newspaper in tho county, instead of requiring tho petition or notices to be posted up as now required by law.
