Most of the girls are back from last year, and they are hoping for a great season, according to Coach Connie Veal. April 2 at 1:30 p.m. at the Nyssa Rodeo grounds. Qualifying rules for the contest are: Must be an Oregon resident. 15-21 years old and unmarried; Must wear neat blue jeans, white shirt and hat; Judging will be 50% horsemanship - 25% poise and personaltiy - 25% knowledge of rodeo. The new elementary gym has been open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and all day Saturday for the last three months under the direction of Tony Martinez. The program has been successful and quite a large group of youngsters and adults have, made use of the facilities. Due to the recent small participation on Saturday, the regular supervised open ings will be discontinued on Saturdays and weekday eve nings. The gym will be available on a request basis if the person in charge of a group will sign up on the FACILITY USE REQUEST FORM and make arrangements at least two d.-ivs in advance of use. Kid's Baseball Meeting Set There will be an organi zational meeting for the “Baseball For Kids” pro gram, Wednesday, April 6 at 7 p.m. at the Twilight Cafe. There is a great need for umpires, parents, coaches, workers for field work, player-helpers and a job is available for all those who are interested in the develop ment of this year's program.
