July 12. 1966, date of the deceased's birthday anni versary. Materials and labor for the facilities were donated by relatives snd friends of the late Jack Zittervob and his family. Plaques are being furnished by his widow, Rosemary; daughter, Ann; and son, Tom. UJ 20 YEARS AGO Friday night the Nyssa Sugarbeets moved into third spot in the Border League when they defeated Weiser 5-1 in a fast moving game at the high school field. • • • Nyssa area produce pack ing houses were being geared for operations that will get underway next week on early spuds that show every indication of bringing "fabulous” prices, even if early quotations drop to a much lower level. Some growers were reject ing $4 offers for their early spuds and reports were that some potatoes might go as high as $6 here. M YEARS AGO The first white gopher reported seen in the Nyssa heights area was found at the Glen Suiter farm recently. Mr. and Mrs Suiter saw the gopher about the place and set a trap for it. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Knox of Springfield left Friday after a weeks visit with their psrents, Mr. and Mrs. William Knox.
