Horrocks Nyssa Drops 14-7 Loss To Nampa In what began as a one sided game, became an eiciting see-saw battle and ended as a rout. Nampa beat Nyssa 14-7 in an American Legion game Monday night in Nyssa. Six runs in the top of the seventh inning clinched it for Nampa. Thev scored off a very tired Norberto Lopez, who came into pitch in the first inning after Jay Kygar developed a sore arm. Nyssa came back from a 4-0 deficit in the bottom of the second with three runs on bases loaded single by Jim Wilson, a wild pitch and a sacrifice by David Pratt. Joe Joyce. Ernie Delgado and Kygar scored. Nampa almost blew the game away tn the top of the third, but with bases loaded Pratt made a diving stab of a low line drive to end the Nampa threat. Nyssa char ged ahead in the bottom half of the third on the strength of a three-run triple by Kygar. Lopez seemed firmly in charge in the top of the fourth as he set down the Chiefs in order for the only time in the game. Nyssa lost a chance to break the game open in the bottom of the fourth but could manage only one run. An Leos was tagged out at home on a squeeze play attempt which ended the Nyssa threat. Nyssa led then. Pratt again saved Nyssa's hide with a line drive to start a double play in the top of the fifth, again with the bases loaded. Nampa scored two runs to tie the score at 7-7. Nyssa did not score again as Nampa relief pitcher John Reyas kept Nyssa vinually hitless for three innings.
