Oregon Engagement Announced FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE Friendship Club met at the IOOF Hall June 4 with Anna Marostica. president pre siding. Sixteen members answered roil call. No meeting will be held in July and a picnic is scheduled in August with the date and place to be announced later. Hostess was Wilma Os trom and there were four tables of Bunco in play. Winning honors went to Aileen Morrison, high; Vina Fox, traveling and Orma Cleaver, low. Wr< Marcum Break» IT ri» t THE ENGAGEMENT OF PAMELA SUE DAVIS to Luis Mosqueda has been announced by her parents Mr. and Mrs. John R. Davis, of Yellow Pine, formerly of Nyssa. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Mosqueda of Nyssa. Miss Davis is a graduate of Nyssa High School and is attending T.V.C.C. She is a Past Honored Queen of Bethel #33 Order of Jobs Daughters of Nyssa and Past Grand Honored Queen of Oregon. She is employed at Rays Food Fair in Nyssa. Mosqueda is a graduate of Nyssa High School and will also be enrolling in T.V.C.C. this fall. He is presently employed at Malheur Memorial Hospital and is on call with the B.L.M. fire fighting crew No. 25 of Nyssa. Miss Davis is the grand-daughter of Mrs. Geneva Baker of Parma. Kiwanis Plan Box Social The Ontario Treasure Val ley Kiwanis Club will have a “Sing Along and Box Social” Sunday, June 13 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Laxson Park in the N.W. section of Ontario. Opening ceremonies will start at 2 p.m. with a re-dedication of the consti tution and a flag raising, followed by an auction of box lunches. Proceeds will be used to purchase park benches and tables for Morgan Beck Kiwanis Park. The sing-along and square dancing will follow the auction. Song books will be provided by the T.V. Kiwanis Club. The event is open to the public, just bring a box lunch. L. McPartland Has Surgery Linda McPartland. daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. W.L. McPartland of rural Nyssa returned home Tuesday, following three weeks of hospitalization at Mercy Medical Center in Nampa. She had surgery on both knees and her mother says she is doing quite well. >* X SILLY SEWERS Last week we made choco late, no bake, cookies. Everyone brought a different ingredient from home. Social Scene *•••••••••••••••••••••• Mr. and Mrs. Murle Marcum went clam digging on the Oregon Coast over the Memorial Day weekend and Mrs. Marcum found out that digging clams can prove to be disasterous. as she fell and broke her wrist. She said she tried to turn around and all of her turned, but her boots, and she fell backwards landing upon her wrist. They were houseguests of their daughter and son-in-law Mr. and Mrs. A.C. Baronti. They also visited at the home of their son and daughter-in- law. Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Marcum in Eugene. Marriage Announced The marriage of Judith Lake Puett. to Rodric Everett Davis was announced by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Powers of Nu Acres. He ia the son of Mrs. Albert 0. Cain of Sandpoint. Idaho, and William Davis of Wal lace. Idaho. I'hc couple was married on May 18. 1976 in Moscow, Idaho and will make their home there, where he is a student at the University of Idaho. The bride is a graduate of Lowndes High School at Zaldosta. Georgia and ia a graduate of Prescott College at Prescott, Arizona. She worked for the Gate City Journal as a reporter, the summer of 1975. Her hus band is a graduate of Wallace High School. Attending the bride and groom at their marriage ceremony were her sister, Julia Morgan Puett and David Monks. l^egum I Julies Sponsor Tea The Nyssa American Legion Auxiliary hosted the Girl's State Tea at the Twilight Cafe Saturday after noon. Delegates from Vale and Nyssa, their parents and members of the Vale unit were present. District 10 President Marie Mitchell was also present for the occasion. Helen Fuson - David Patchett United In Spring Rites A wedding in the Ontario Assembly of God Church united Helen Ann Fuson and David R. Patchett in mar riage on May 1. The Rev. Otis Frost officiated at the single ring ceremony. Parents of the couple are Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Fuson, Vale, and Mr, and Mrs. Kenneth Patchett. all of Vale. The church was decorated with urns of green and yellow carnations and candelabra accented with floral arrange ments. The bride, given in mar riage by her father, entered the church wearing a white quiana gown with an empire waist, long sleeves and high neckline trimmed in lace. A hood and train completed the ensemble She carried a bouquet made of greenery and gardenias. The bride's sister. Claire Fuson of Fresno. Calif, was the maid of honor. Brides maids were Mrs. Jeff Pals- gaard, Fresno, friend of the bride and Mrs Bill Hawkins. Vale, a sister of the groom. All of the brides attendants were dressed in mint green crepe and chiffon dresses trimmed with white daisies They wore white hats trim med with white and green ribbon and carried bouquets of daisies, carnations and greenery. Serving as best man was Kennith Bay. a cousin of the groom from Eureka, Calif. Ushers were Bill Hawkins. Vale, brother-in-law of the groom and Duane Patchett. a cousin of the groom. Providing music were Mrs. Mike Eden, Mrs. Steve Kemble and Ken Eden accompanied by Miss Mar- jean Combs of Nampa. A reception followed at the church with Mrs. Walter Wasser of Fresno cutting and serving the cake. Pouring punch and coffee were Mrs. Duane Patchett. Boise, and Mrs. Kennith Bay of Eureka. Mrs. Norman Frank, aunt of the groom, served as the wedding hostess. Special guests at the ceremonies were the groom's grandmothers. Mrs. Cath erine Bay of McKinleyville, Calif, and Mrs. Mac Patchetl from Blackfoot. Idaho. The bride ia a graduate of Clovis High School. Clovis. Calif, and Reedley Junior College in California. The groom graduated from Mc Kinleyville High School. They will make their home in Newport Beach. Calif, where the groom is stationed with the Coast Guard. •*
