Over 5.500 social security recipients registered for the new service at First National branch offices during the first five days of the sign-up period. The free direct deposit program, effective October 3, allows social security re cipients to have their checks mailed directly to First National for automatic de posit into either checking or savings accounts. Mr. and Mrs. Ben Payne, visited Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Mikesell in Notus. A trip to Westfall was made by the Cammans and Paynes in order to visit the old stone house where Francis Camman was bom Another trip was made for a visit to the Malheur County Fair. Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Gene Rife of Boise visited Mr. and Mrs. Ben Payne. Other visitors that same day were Mr. and Mrs. Quentin Mikesell and his father from Kansas and Mr. and Mrs. Syl W<K>dland of Arena Valley. ADRIAN ■ Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowels and children of Medford came Tuesday to visit her parents. Mr. and Mrs. George DeHaven. They returned home on Friday. Mr and Mrs. Jim King of Corvallis came Saturday to visit her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. E. Mackey and his mother. Mrs. Pauline King of Ontario and other relatives in this area. They also spent several days in McCAII and while there Mr. Ennor visited with them. Lloyd Dibble took their two grandchildren home to Cam bridge on Thursday. They have been visiting their grandparents for several weeks. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Dibble and Sue attended lhe Na- zarene Church potluck dinner held in the Parma Park on Sunday welcoming their new minister, the Rev. Georg Koptein. Mr. and Mrs. Waldo Smalley returned home Mon day evening from a trip to Hermiston. Oregon where they visited Mr. and Mrs Robert Smalley and on Saturday and Sunday atten ded a swimming meet at The Dalles. Oregon where their granddaughter. Ann Smalley was a contestant. She won 3 ribbons in the meet Mr. and Mrs. Doug Daniels and famly came on Sunday to The Dalles and all enjoyed a picnic and visit at The Dalles Park. Mr. and Mrs. Emery Rathbun of La Puente. Calif, left Tuesday after a three weeks visit with Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Seward and other relatives. They will tour Yosmite National Park before going on home.
