Mrs. Carl Fenn ■ nd Mrs. Mary McConnell of Nyssa attended the Ground Hog dinner at the Brethern church at Fruitland. Feb ruary 3. Mrs. Rollo Fenn. Mr». Jim Gonzales and Mrs. Carl Fenn attended the funeral services for Ernie Smith in Nyssa Thursday, afternoon. Wednesday. Mrs. Rollo Fenn went to Homedale and visited Mrs. Tom Churchhill ■nd her daughter Elvina, and was a luncheon guest there that day. Mrs. Tom Churchhill is 84 years old. She had a bad fall two weeks ■go and is slowly improving Mrs Rollo Fenn called on Mr. and Mrs. Wes Walker in Adrian Saturday afternoon. Mr. and Mrs. John Mann of Newport, Oregon were Saturday morning visitors of Mr. and Mrs. Cliff Flanders ■nd family. Mrs. Marie Moore, Mrs. Jon Fahrenbruch and Mrs. Dale Witt attended the Pollyanna club annual Coffe for Heart fund and March of Dimes Wednesday afternoon Mrs. John Fahrenbruch called on Mrs. Rhea Percival Wednesday afternoon. Mrs. W C. Van De Water of Big Bend visited Mrs Rhea Percival and Mrs. Dale Witt Saturday morning Friday evening and Satur day, Mrs Marie Moore. Mrs. Robert Long and Mrs. Alma Witty went to Caldwell to attend a Sunday school work shop. There were at least .TOO people attending They had three assemblies and then broke up into workshops Mrs. Irvin Topliff went to the Decorator Work Shop in Nyssa Thursday morning It was held at the Nutrition house in Nyssa by the Home Extension Agent. Mr. and Mrs. Irvin Topliff. Mr and Mrs Bill Webb and Mrs. Dick Kriegh were among those who attended the 25th wedding anniversary celebration for Mr. and Mrs Kenneth Price. Mr*. Amelia Pratt of Ontario visited Mr. and Mrs. Ray Simpson Thursday after noon. Mrs Carl Fenn was a Saturday afternoon caller in the Ray Simpson home and Mrs. Alfred Simpson was a Sunday morning caller The Ray Simpsons re ceived word from his brother Wess Simpson at North ■ ■ Bend He is in the hospital again and will have surgery ■oon. Mr. and Mrs. Hill Webb were guests of Mr. and Mrs Dick Stain Sunday afternoon. They had ice cream and birthday cake celebrating the birthday of Mrs. Dick Slam, who returned home from the hospital on Saturday Mrs. Dave Savage and girls were Sunday afternoon callers in the Alfred Simpson home. Those helping serve lunch at the W. C. Van DeWater farm sale Thursday afternoon were Mrs. Marie Moore. Mrs. John Fahrenbruch. Mrs. Irvin Topliff, Mrs. Vern Hirsch and Mrs Hill Toomb. Mr and Mrs. Leon Cham- berlain went to Grandview Tuesday evening to see the Rimrock basketball game. Terri Hill was a Saturday overnight guest of her cousin. Andrea Hanson in Ontario. Mr. and Mrs. C M. Morris of Seattle were Friday over- nigh guests of Mr and Mrs. Carl Lee Hill. Mrs. Carl Lee Hill. Terri and Andrea Hanson attended the Debbie Bowers bridal shower in Adrian Saturday afternoon. Mrs. ( arl Lee Hill poured the punch at the 25th wedding anniversary celebra lion of Mr and Mrs. Kenneth Price Sunday after noon. Mrs. Jim Phifer served the cake and Darlene Thomas poured the coffee. Mr and Mrs. Carl Lee Hill, lee and Terri stayed for the potluck lunch afterwards. SAGE OF 1NU ACRES by Lynn Dohner I was telling George all the »tuff we'd done lately that I could write about and he said I should write about different people and not the same one* all the time. So I got out the phone book and »tarted to call a few folk* I hadn't seen for awhile. It isn't easy to find people home around here. They’re out milking cow», shopping, visiting relative», or some have even gone to work! Don't believe that unem ployment stuff. Folk» around here find plenty to do. Like, George has spent the past six weeks on income taxes and his past years' bookkeeping. In-between times he feeds and waters those two calves and cleans their barn. He's going to find it very difficult to eat junior when he'» butchered. He’ll keep seeing a pretty black calf with a splash of white on his forehead and shy brown eyes. In celebration of Nuby Hartman's birthday. Mr». Grover McGee and Mr». Dewey Schmelzel recently had a supper party where he ■ nd his mother. Mrs. Armine Hartman, were honored gue sts. Afterward, the group went to the United Methodist Church in Fruitland to hear Bishop Tuell's address. On Sunday night there was another birthday supper for Nuby. this time at the Eastside Cafe Present were Mr and Mrs. John Steele of Roswell. Mr and Mrs Oscar Perecz of Parma. Nuby's pal, Mike Wade and Nuby and his mother. Mrs. Hartman. Mr and Mrs. George Dohner were dinner guests of Mr and Mrs. Dale Adams on Sunday. Visiting Mr and Mrs. Dean Hislop over the week end were their children. Mr. ■ nd Mrs. Ron Terashima and their children, Tod and Kim of Boise, and Doug Hislop of La Grande Doug is a teacher and coach in the elemintary school in La Grande and has been for the past five years. The Hislop's youngest son. Tom. is presently at Fort Ord. California, studying to be a radio operator for the Army. Mrs. Bill Walker has been visiting for a time in the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. Lester Reece, during her mother’» recent illness She is the former Sharon Reece who grew up in Nu Acres and graduated from Fruitland High. The Walker's most recent home has been in Meridian. Mr Walker, who is employed by Idaho First National Bank, has been transfered to Idaho Falls and the family has been in the process of moving to their new home. Overnight guests with Mr. and Mrs. Bob Shaw were Mr. and Mrs. Frank Preston of Rupert. The Prestons used to live in Nu A cts but went to the Rupert area in order to homestead a new farm some years ago. Their son. Mr. and Mrs. Don Bullard attended the 25th wedding anniversary of Kenneth and Jean Price, Sunday. Mrs. Enos Cook is spen ding some time each day with her mother, Mrs. Carl Clarkson, who is ill. Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Robbins gave a dinner Sunday in honor of their son, Novelle's 24th wedding anniversary. Guests were Mr. and Mrs. Norvelle Robbins and family. Mr. and Mrs. Merrildean Robbins, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Winchell, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Buchtel and Duane's brother Steve, ■ nd Lois Henderson. Proud parents of a new baby are Robert and Laura Ure. The baby was born February 8. He weighed 8 pounds three and one half ounces and has been named Ira Robert Ure III. Clyde Bowers spent Satur day afternoon at Parma, helping his son Don Bowers. Thursday afternoon, Clyde ■nd Nell Bowers visited Charles Bowers at the Mal heur Nursing home in Vale.
